High School Dual Enrolled Students

Interested in being a High School Dual Enrolled student? First discuss the choice with your parents and high school counselor. Opportunities vary by individual and by high school district; however, all eligible students must have successfully completed the eighth grade and be qualified to enter ninth.

  • New High School Dual Enrolled students need to create an Admissions Profile and complete an Online Application. A High School Dual Enrollment Payment & School Authorization Form also needs to be completed and uploaded as a supplement to the Online Application. NEW HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLED STUDENT STEPS

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLMENT PAYMENT & SCHOOL AUTHORIZATION FORM

Fill out the form, print and obtain all required signatures.  Scan and save the document because you will need to upload it in STEP 3.

STEP 2: CREATE AN ADMISSIONS PROFILE & COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION

NEW STUDENTS ONLY: Complete all required fields in the Admissions Profile and then click Create Profile.

NOTE: You must remember your Admissions Profile Email User ID and Password you establish because both are needed to verify/update your existing Online Application each semester you return.

Next select Apply Now/Start an Application and then follow this path: Start a New Undergraduate Application > Click Here to Continue and Start Your New Application.

STEP 3: UPLOAD HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLMENT PAYMENT & SCHOOL AUTHORIZATION FORM

If continuing directly from STEP 2, click on My Admissions Profile at the top of the webpage.  Scroll down and select Upload Documents.  Select Browse, locate the saved form, double click on the file and then select Upload All. Logout.

Continue checking your personal email for your OCC student number.  Once received, this means your application has been processed and you can continue to STEP 4.

If you did not continue directly from STEP 2, return to the Admissions Profile page and login with your Admissions Profile Email User ID and Password to complete STEP 3.

STEP 4: SET UP A MYOCC ACCOUNT & OCC EMAIL

Click on MyOCC from the OCC homepage and then select Login.  Use the new MyOCC User ID and Temporary Password the College has created for you.  You will be asked to change your Temporary Password ONLY.  Your new MyOCC User ID CANNOT be changed.

Once logged-in to MyOCC, select Student Accounts and Sign-in to Student Email to activate your OCC email.  Your OCC Student Email address uses your full MyOCC User ID adding @student.oaklandcc.edu.  All future contact from OCC will now be sent to this college email account.

NOTE: If an existing OCC student has the same name, your MyOCC User ID will contain a number.   If your first and last name are more than 19 letters combined, your MyOCC ID will omit the remaining letters from your first name.

You can always access both accounts by going to the OCC homepage and selecting MyOCC.

STEP 5: NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION - ONLINE

Log-in to MyOCC , and select Student and then New Student Orientation.  You’ll then be asked to register.  Use your OCC Student Email Address and newly created Password.  After clicking Register, enter your OCC Student ID Number. It’s important to enter this number correctly or it could delay registration.

NOTE: You ONLY have to complete the New Student Orientation and a brief Student Survey at the end.  While there are also many Student Lingos that are informative, they are NOT required.

Once you’ve finished the New Student Orientation and brief Student Survey, remember to click "Mark Course Completed" to finish the orientation and then print your certificate.  If you do not, you will not be able to register.

STEP 6: PLACEMENT TESTING

If you are attending OCC for the first time, English placement is mandatory.  All students whose SAT or ACT does not place them into Composition I/English 1510 MUST take AccuuPlacer and Writeplacer.  Scroll to the bottom of the linked AccuPlacer and Writeplacer page to see minimum SAT/ACT scores.  English Second Language (ESL) students must take MTELP for English placement.

NOTE: Taking the math placement test - ALEKS - is only necessary if you plan on registering for a math class in your first year at OCC.

STEP 7: MEET WITH A COUNSELOR

All incoming first-time college students are now required to meet with an OCC counselor.  Call for an appointment at a campus convenient to you or set-up an online ZOOM meeting which does require you have a webcam.

NOTE: Make the most of your counseling appointment: Complete STEPS 1 - 6 before meeting with a counselor.

STEP 8: REGISTER FOR CLASSES VIA MyOCC

Login to MyOCC.  Select Students and then Register for Sections.  To learn more about registration, use this Search and Register Tutorial.

STEP 10: GET YOUR RAIDER ONE CARD

The Raider One Card is your official OCC Student ID. It also serves as your Library Card, Copy/Print Card, and iROC Cash for Raiders Store and Cafe purchases. Your first card is free, replacement cards cost $10.

STEP 11: BUY YOUR BOOKS

The Raider Bookstore offers competitive prices. Order your books online through MyOCC.   After logging in, follow this path: Students > Bookstore > Textbooks > Buy/Rent.  You may also purchase them in-person, but you MUST get them from the campus where the class is taught.

RETURNING HIGH SCHOOL DUAL ENROLLED STUDENT STEPS

STEP 2:

RETURNING STUDENTS ONLY: Return to the Admissions Profile page and login with the Admission Profile Email User ID and Password you used to create your Admissions Profile the first semester you attended OCC. Select Apply On-line and then Start a New Undergraduate Application.

Most of the information from your previous application will populate.  Verify the information is correct and complete any fields marked with a red *. Submit.

NOTE: The Admissions Profile Email User ID and Password are different from the MyOCC User ID and Password that are still active and used to access your MyOCC and Student Email.

Continue checking your personal email for a message indicating you’ve been readmitted.  Once received, this means your application has been processed and you can continue to STEP 4.

NOTE: Your OCC Student Number has NOT changed.  Your MyOCC User ID and Password are also the same.

If you did not continue directly from STEP 2, return to the Admissions Profile page and login with your Admissions Profile Email User ID and Password to complete STEP 3.
